We worship in the Roman Catholic church of Notre Dame de l’Assomption, toulouserue Clausade, in the Minimes Parish, close to the Barrière de Paris Metro station. every Sunday at 10.30. We hold a variety of modern and traditional services with music by our Music Group. There is Sunday Club and Junior Worship  for all ages, with crêche facilities. The active and very popular Guides and Scouts groups in the area come as welcome visitors from time to time.

We are a mix of young families and retirees.  The current congregation averages around 40, plus 20 children, with larger numbers at major festivals.  Our Christingle, Carols and Christmas Communion services, as well as the Sunday School Nativity Play are very popular.

Parts of the service are presented in French when there are French-only speakers in the congregation. Everyone is welcome. Do come and join us!

Genesis 17:1-7,15,16
Psalm 22:23-31
Romans 4:13-25
Mark 8:31-38

The Collect is:

Almighty God,
you show to those who are in error the light of your truth,
that they may return to the way of righteousness:
grant to all those who are admitted
into the fellowship of Christ’s religion,
that they may reject those things
that are contrary to their profession,

one God, now and for ever.

Mothering Sunday – 11th March

We are delighted that Rev Tony Jewis will be leading our Mothering Sunday Service again.

An invitation is going out to our Guides and Scouts and the Tots Club, so we hope to have a warm family friendly service.

Let's take this opportunity to invite friends and neighbours to share in this lovely occasion as we celebration the love and care of our Mothers and celebrating our Mother Church.

As is our tradition, we present the ladies in the congregation with flowers and Philippa will be looking for volunteers who would like to help prepare these.

Palm Sunday – 25th March – followed by the Toulouse AGM

Our Chaplain, Dan will be leading our Palm Sunday Service, when we will receive the traditional blessed palm crosses.

The service will be followed by the Toulouse AGM, which will include the election of members of the Toulouse Church Council. This is a relatively short meeting, as it only covers things relating to Toulouse and not the whole Chaplaincy.

The meeting will be followed by a Bring-and-Share meal in the Sunday school room.

To vote at the meeting you need to be on the Electoral Roll, if you are not on the electoral roll please speak to Philippa who will give you a form to fill in.

Also, anyone is welcome to put his or her name forward to be elected onto the council.

We welcome new members and even if you have only just arrived in our congregation, do feel welcome, as we are a community that is always on the move.

All contributions to the Bring & Share lunch will be very welcome.

Fellowship Groups and Prayer Groups
  • Monday lunch time Prayer Group meets each week at NDA
  • Airport Chapel Group meets every second Wednesday in the month (next meeting 14th March)

Secours Catholique

We continue to donate items; their request list includes: coffee, rice, sugar-cubes, milk, (in long-life bottles) cooking oil, baby food (small jars are ideal) and all types of toiletries.

As a special challenge over Lent, could we please make a special effort and bring a bottle (or box) (or more) of long life milk each Sunday in lent. This is a commodity that is needed particularly at the moment since Secours Catholique is supporting a number of refugee families.

If you would like to know more about how you can help, please contact Debbie .

Junior Worship

We have temporarily suspended Sunday Club and Junior Worship due to the lack of youngsters. As a result, all ages will be present at all our services and we will endeavour to take this into consideration with toys, colouring, word search and the like, being made available.

We meet on the 1st Sunday of each month, while the adults have their service in the main part of the Church.

It is based on the All Age Family service sheet but adapted for children and young people.  Though adults are present, the young people are encouraged to lead the service and read prayers and bible readings themselves.

There are lots of songs to sing, both traditional ones and new ones with actions and even some with dance steps!  There is a time of teaching which usually includes some fun and interaction.

The framework of the service is the same each month, but with new topical thoughts and prayers, the children can then take home their colourful service pamphlet and song sheet.

We welcome children aged from 3 -13 and parents are more than welcome to stay with them.  At the end of our service we go into main church to tell and show the rest of the congregation what we've been doing.

For more information contact  Zena Baker on 05 82 74 29 39.

Sunday Club

Sunday Club

Come and join one of our friendly groups (there are two – 4 to 9 years and 10 to 13 years) on every 2nd and 4th Sunday in the month - like school, it's in term-time only.  We meet while the main service is on, and join the adults towards the end of the service so that the children can go with their parents to take communion.

We read stories from the Bible, play games, do activities - drawing, colouring, wordsearch, etc.  We sing songs, and prayers are answered.

In addition to Sunday Club, on the first Sunday of each month we hold Junior Worship services, and, of course, we hold Christingle services and act out our Nativity Play around Christmas time.

Want to know more?  Contact  Philippa Picq on 05 62 13 97 19.
