We have been worshipping in Cahors since 1964. Our congregation started with home-meetings and has met over the years in two Roman Catholic chapels. We now worship in the chapel of the Roman Catholic Centre Paroissial in Terre Rouge every Sunday morning at 10.00. We attract an average congregation of 40 or more, some members travelling 60 kms to be with us on Sundays. Services on the major festivals are well-attended, our Christmas Carol services being especially popular.
Members contribute to our worship by helping to lead services, reading, and serving refreshments. Bring and Share lunches, for example after the local AGM in February/March and after pre-Lent and Harvest Festival services, are regular features on the calendar. There are also several Home Groups active in offering fellowship and building connections, and we hope to establish groups in other areas.
Under the leadership of the Revd June Hutchinson, Assistant Chaplain for the Chaplaincy, our church continues to develop, with growing participation in social activities within the wider community. This is a great place to live, and our worship and fellowship really add to the experience.
Do join us.

Jonah 3:10 - 4:11
The Collect is:
God, who in generous mercy sent the Holy Spirit
upon your Church in the burning fire of your love:
grant that your people may be fervent
in the fellowship of the gospel

they may be found steadfast in faith and active in service;

Elise Johnston, Artist - Craftswoman
Robin Johnston has published a book about Elise's works entitled "Elise Johnston, Artist-Craftswoman".
The book is an almost complete record of her lifetime works in various media including all her 48 mosaics. There is a brief summary of her life story and an artistic appreciation of her mosaics by Dr Patricia Oyelola. The text of the book is in both English and French.
Robin would like to use the book to support the charity, Child Life Line; a charity for the street children of Lagos. This charity was close to Elise's heart and Robin continues to support this charity.
Copies of the book will be available for a contribution of €20 all of which will go to Child Life LIne.

Over the last ten years or so, three home groups have been established in and around Cahors — Cahors, Montaigu de Quercy, and Basse Vallée. All meet weekly during Advent and Lent, and fortnightly during the remainder of the year. Numbers in the groups vary greatly over the year as visitors come and go, but six to eight at any meeting is a good average. All groups are flourishing, and give us the opportunity to explore our faith centred on a mix of Bible reading and other texts, in the company of others of like mind. The home-groups also provide a ready source of mutual help and support.
